" I am greatly interested in the parallels between physics and metaphysics. I work mostly with oil on canvas, as well as charcoals on etching paper. My work is figurative, tempered with great respect for the abstract forces that shape our perception.
In working with the images of the dressmaker’s form, the Styrofoam cup, and the chair, I have begun an exploration in containers, or vessels. This has led me to the mannequin as being a template over which we project our ideals and designs. The star charts are a reference to our tendency to order our thoughts, and the subsequent way our ordering and our thoughts become enmeshed. That our intentions and the ensuing results are interrelated is interesting to me. The idea that we attempt to define our reality inescapably shapes that reality. That we are not the passive observer is translated in the way the star charts become imbedded in the imagery of the painting and the drawing.
The latest works tend to further explore the parallels of the various containers and the psychological environments, of our intentions."
